South New Summit School

Formerly TIDE School

Summer Hours: The office will be closed on Wednesday, May 30th. The office will open each Wednesday in June and July from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. If you would like to schedule an appointment, please contact Christie Brady at 601-909-2004.

We excited to announce that TIDE School has become a New Learning Resources (NLR) school! We will begin the 2018-19 school year as South New Summit School.

As many of you know, New Learning Resources is the parent organization of Mississippi Dyslexia Centers, which has provided critical dyslexia therapy and academic support for our Sharks over the last 2 years. We are so glad to extend this excellence to include all of our services. Mrs. Kristen Frierson will join myself and Mrs. Ladner on the administrative team, and our MDE accreditation will continue. Some of the exciting benefits we expect include:

1. Support from a network of special purpose private schools, including New Summit in Jackson and North New Summit in Greenwood.

2. Accreditation by Advanced Ed (formerly SACS)

3. Improved business operations

4. Improved learning assessments and individualized education

5. More curricular and educational materials

6. Sooner relocation to a larger school site

7. Enhanced faculty-parent communication and student records management through Renweb - a student management system (database) and learning management system.

We look forward to introducing you to our New Learning Resources leaders at Parent Orientation on Monday, August 6 at 6:00 pm. Dr. Nancy New, Zach New, and Kristen Frierson will join us in launching the 2018-19 school year.

If you have any questions prior to Parent Orientation, please contact me at christie.brady@tideschool.org.

Looking forward to a wonderful 2018-19 as South New Summit School!

The Institute for Diverse Education, known as TIDE School, is a private college preparatory special purpose school for students diagnosed with Dyslexia or other specific learning disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Anxiety Disorders.

At TIDE, we believe every student deserves to be taught in the way he best learns. Education should empower the student to conquer his anxieties, overcome his challenges, polish his gifts, and reach his full potential.

TIDE's mission is to provide a safe, nurturing, coeducational learning environment that balances gifted education with remedial education while integrating social, emotional and behavioral support for the middle school or high school student who may not fully express his gifts and talents because of a specific learning disability or related health impairment.
